Mission Statement

The Youth Character Development Foundation , Inc. will positively impact young people throughout Western New York. Our purpose is the reinforcement of traditional values such as respecting oneself and others, personal responsibility, making moral decisions based on what is right and wrong and not on what is popular, being sincere and genuinely interested in others, and communicating openly and honestly. The aim of the foundation is to reach the minds and hearts of young people at a critical stage in their development, replacing self-consciousness with self-confidence.

Two Outstanding Programs are Available:
The Youth Character Development Foundation is approaching 1,000 Western New York graduates. Built on the proven effectiveness of the world’s most successful professional and personal development program, the Dale Carnegie® Course has been customized to provide high school-aged students with the skills they need to succeed and fulfill their potential. In this day and age when the headlines often reflect the tragic results of youth mishaps in our communities, the Youth Character Development Foundation is determined to offer an alternative. For over 90 years, the Dale Carnegie® Course has been used to teach business individuals how to achieve excellence. Now, through the Youth Character Development Foundation, this training is available to high school students. Classes can be held at our training center in Amherst, or at schools and other sites throughout the community
Freshman/Sophomore - Designed primarily for 9th and 10th grade students for high school success. Junior/Senior - Designed primarily for 11th and 12th grade students in preparation for college and career.
